Acquisition Information
The records of Moral Re-armament, worldwide movement dedicated to spiritual and ethical reawakening, were given to the Library of Congress by Moral Re-armament in 1976. Additional gifts were received from T. Willard Hunter and Francis Bradley in 1977, Anne Wishard in 1990, T. Willard Hunter in 1991, Geoffrey C. K. Pugh in 1992, and Jarvis Harriman in 1997.
Processing History
The records of Moral Re-armament were processed by Allan Teichroew and Anita Nolen with the assistance of Robert Doyle, Chad Wilson, and Leonard Hawley in 1978. The collection was expanded and revised by Bradley Gernand and Melinda K. Friend with the assistance of Deloris Butler, 1996-2000, and additional changes were made to the finding aid in 2011.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Some photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division where they are identified as the Visual Materials from the Moral Re-armament Records. An inventory of this material is available in their finding aid. Motion pictures and sound recordings have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. Sheet music has been transferred to the Music Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the records of Moral Re-armament.
