Scope and Content Note
The papers of Henry Thomas Rainey (1860-1934) span the years 1904-1934, with the bulk of the material from 1924 to 1934. The collections consist mainly of letters from his constituents and correspondence from 1924 relating to the passage of the McNary-Haugen Farm Relief Bill. Also included are files concerning the Illinois Waterway. Correspondents include Alexander S. Bacon, William Jennings Bryan, Sam B. Dannis, Edgar Lee Masters, W. G.
