Acquisition Information
The papers of Robert Worth Bingham, diplomat, lawyer, and newspaper publisher, were given to the Library of Congress by his son, Barry Bingham, Sr., in 1975-2010.
Processing History
The collection was processed by Fynette Eaton in 1980 and expanded by David Mathisen in 1984. The material received in 2010 was processed in 2011 and incorporated into an existing Addition series and the finding aid revised by Kathleen O'Neill. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Some photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. Sheet music has been transferred to the Music Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Robert Worth Bingham Papers.
