The papers of Irving Langmuir, chemist, were given to the Library of Congress as a bequest of Langmuir in 1958. An addition was received as a gift of Jerome S. Prener in 1988.
Processing History
The papers of Irving Langmuir were arranged and described in 1959. The collection was expanded and revised in 2005. The finding aid was revised again in 2012.
