Scope and Content Note
The records of Food for Freedom, Inc., span the years 1942-1947 and consist of correspondence, notes, memoranda, reports, articles, minutes, news releases, reprints, clippings, cartoons, mailing lists, speeches, and other material, including the manuscript for "Battle of Bread" by the organization’s director, Harold Weston.
Organizations represented in the records include the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, International Emergency Food Council, International Emergency Food Council, Reconstruction Service Committee, UNICEF, United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration, and the United States President's Famine Emergency Committee. Among the correspondents are Louis Adamic, Phillip C. Jessup, Eleanor Roosevelt, and James Thomson Shotwell.
