Acquisition Information
The papers of James R. Mann, lawyer and U.S. representative from Illinois, were given to the Library of Congress by his wife, Emma Columbia Mann, in 1923.
Processing History
The papers of James R. Mann were prepared for filming in 1993. The finding aid was revised in 2012. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Maria Farmer as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.

A microfilm edition of these papers is available on eight reels. Consult reference staff in the Manuscript Division concerning availability for purchase or interlibrary loan. To promote preservation of the originals, researchers are required to consult the microfilm edition.
