Scope and Content Note
The papers of Henry Barrett Learned (1868-1931) span the years 1907-1931 and consist chiefly of notes and related material gathered by Learned for revision of his book The President’s Cabinet (1912) and an unpublished history of the vice presidency. A file of miscellaneous material at the end of the collection includes papers relating to Learned’s attendance at the fifth and sixth International Congress of Historical Sciences, 1923 and 1928, his seminars at Stanford University, and a movement between 1914 and 1917 to reform the American Historical Association.
