Biographical Note
Antonín Novotný was born in Prague, Bohemia, on May 15, 1891. He studied law before becoming director of the city museum of Prague, but relinquished the position after the German occupation of Czechoslovakia and devoted the remainder of his life to studying and writing on religious and historical subjects, particularly Prague and his native land. He moved to Rochester, Minnesota, in 1965 and died in 1978.
