Acquisition Information
The papers of Lee Strasberg, actor, director, and acting teacher, were given to the Library of Congress by his widow, Anna Strasberg, in 2011.
Processing History
The papers of Lee Strasberg were processed in 2015 by Laura J. Kells with the assistance of Maria Farmer, Sherralyn McCoy, Kimberly Owens, Courtney Rookard, and Tammi Taylor.
Transfers
Items have been transferred from the Manuscript Division to other custodial divisions of the Library. Photographs, posters, and prints have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division. Collections of programs, playbills, and Russian, German, and Japanese theater magazines have been transferred to the Rare Book and Special Collections Division. Sound recordings found with these papers have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division. All transfers are identified in these divisions as part of the Lee Strasberg Papers.
