Acquisition Information
The papers of Huntington Gilchrist, public official and business executive, were deposited in the Library of Congress by Gilchrist in 1974 and bequeathed to the Library by Elizabeth Brace Gilchrist (Mrs. Huntington Gilchrist) in 1981. Mimeographed material relating to the League of Nations was added to the papers as a gift of Terry Diebel in 1977.
Processing History
The collection was processed by Jerome Nashorm in 1975. Additional material was added in 1982. The finding aid was revised in 2013. The finding aid was updated in 2023 by Rachel Telford as part of a division-wide remediation project by the Inclusive Description Working Group.
Transfers
Some photographs have been transferred to the Prints and Photographs Division of the Library of Congress where they are identified as a part of these papers.
