Biographical Note
Carl “Rip” Conrad Loth, born 1896, was a veteran of World War I and World War II. At the onset of World War I, he volunteered with the French Army as a member of the American Volunteer Motor-Ambulance Corps, then transferred to the Aviation Section of the United States Signal Corps where he was a pilot. During World War II, he applied for active service in the United States Army Air Forces, serving five years. He retired in 1956 with the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserves. He died in 1967.
