Acquisition Information
The papers of Allen Neuharth, President of Gannett Company and founder of USA Today, were given to the Library of Congress by Allen Neuharth in 2005 and 2006. Additional material was given to the Library by the estate of Allen Neuharth in 2014.
Processing History
The papers of Allen Neuharth were processed by Michael Folkerts with the assistance of Thomas Bigley, Jake Bozza, Maria Farmer, and Tammi Taylor in 2018.
Transfers
Video and audio cassettes featuring interviews, speeches, and meetings have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the Allen Neuharth Papers.
Prototypes of the original USA Today, a prototype of Baseball Weekly, an autographed first edition of USA Today, volume I issue 1 and volume II issue 11 of SoDak Sports, and other items from USA Today, Florida Today, and Gannett News Service have been transferred to the Serials and Government Publications Division where they are identified as part of the Allen Neuharth papers.

Digital files were received as part of the papers of Allen Neuharth on a variety of storage media, each of which was assigned a unique digital ID number.
