Acquisition Information
The papers of Edward S. Crocker II and Lispenard Seabury Crocker, foreign service officer and his wife, were given to the Library of Congress by Edward C. Green in 2018, 2019, and 2021.
Processing History
The papers of Edward S. Crocker II and Lispenard Seabury Crocker were arranged and described by Karen Linn Femia in 2019. The addition was processed and the finding aid revised by Karen Linn Femia in 2022. Digital files were processed by Kathleen O'Neill.
Digital files were received as part of the Edward S. Crocker II and Lispenard Seabury Crocker Papers on a single piece of storage media and assigned a unique digital ID number. Use the digital ID number to request access copies of the files associated with each media. A single DVD-R (digital ID mss86263_171_001) was processed in 2018 and compared to a single DVD-R received in 2021. Analysis confirmed the 2021 DVD-R contained identical content of higher quality. A reference copy of that DVD-R was made and assigned digital ID mss86263_248_001, which replaced the 2018 file, digital ID mss86263_171_001.
Transfers
Five film canisters and seven VHS videocassettes have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the Edward S. Crocker II and Lispenard Seabury Crocker Papers. Patrons are encouraged to contact the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division in advance of a research visit.
Digitized Content
The 16mm home movies in the collection, titled "Crocker Family Archives," were digitized by the donor in 2008 and can be requested using the digital ID mss86263_248_001. The original films and a set of VHS copies of the films were transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division.
