The papers of John H. Gibbons were given to the Library of Congress from 2004 to 2015 by Gibbons.
Processing History
The papers of John H. Gibbons were processed by Pang H. Xiong with the assistance of Tracey Barton, Jake Bozza, Maria Farmer, Emily Flint, and Rosa Hernandez in 2019 and 2020.
Digital files were received as part of the John H. Gibbons papers on a variety of storage media, each of which was assigned a unique digital ID number. Use the digital ID number to request access copies of the files associated with each media. Additional processing conducted by staff included ripping audio files to .wav format.
Technical Requirements
Digital files primarily consist of audio files in .wav format and video files in .vob formats. Audiovisual files must be played on the VLC Media Player. Text files are in .doc and .pdf formats. A few .tmp files containing text can be opened in Notepad or a standard fileviewer. Also included are .ppt, .jpg, .tif, and .html files.
