Acquisition Information
The DuPree African American Pentecostal Collection was given to the Library of Congress by Sherry Sherrod DuPree, the collector, in 2019.
Processing History
The DuPree African American Pentecostal Collection was arranged and described by Colleen Benoit Kim with the assistance of Tracey Barton, Lanai Huddleston, Elizabeth Livesey, Kathleen O'Neill, and Tammi Taylor in 2021. The collection arrived at the Library minimally organized and with limited description in 2019. The collection's order was entirely imposed by the archivists to improve its navigation.
Digital files were received as part of the DuPree African American Pentecostal Collection on a variety of storage media, primarily CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks. Each piece of media was assigned a unique digital ID number. Use the digital ID number to request access copies of the files associated with each media. Transfers
Video and audio cassettes featuring sermons and church activities, especially from the Williams Temple Church of God in Christ in Gainesville, Florida, and gospel music recordings have been transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the DuPree African American Pentecostal Collection.

Technical Requirements
Digital files were created in a Windows operating system, version is unknown. Content is primarly video files in .VOB format and audio files in .wav format. Image files in .jpeg and tiff format and text files in .doc, .pdf, and .txt also are included.
