Copyright Status
In 1972 the copyright in the unpublished writings of Herman Hollerith in these papers and in other collections of papers in the custody of the Library of Congress was dedicated to the public except that the exclusive use of such rights was reserved to Lucia B., Herman, Jr., Nannie T., and Virginia Hollerith during their lifetimes.
Access and Restrictions
The papers of Herman Hollerith are open to research. Researchers are advised to contact the Manuscript Reading Room prior to visiting. Many collections are stored off-site and advance notice is needed to retrieve these items for research use.
