The papers of John Sharp Williams, lawyer, planter, congressman and senator from Mississippi, were given to the Library of Congress in 1936 by his son, John Sharp Williams, Jr., with an additional item given by Frank Roberson in 1941.
Processing History
The papers of John Sharp Williams were first arranged and described circa 1948. Additional material received was incorporated into the collection in 1963 and the register further revised in 1997.
