Organizational Note

The American publishing firm J. Fischer & Bro. was established as J. Fischer & Brother by Joseph and Ignaz Fischer, in Dayton, Ohio, in 1864. It moved to New York in 1875 and was acquired by Belwin-Mills in 1970.
