Between 1955 and 1965, Arthur Schwartz deposited and converted to gift music manuscripts for The Band Wagon, Jennie, and for the song "Something to Remember You By." Paul Schwartz donated the remaining, largest portion of the collection in 2001.

Processing History
The Arthur Schwartz Papers were processed by William Robin, Gina Bombola, Christopher Bowen, and Christopher Hartten in 2012. Christopher Hartten coded the finding aid for EAD format in 2012. Additions were processed and coded by Janet McKinney in 2019.
Transfers
Sound recordings from the Arthur Schwartz Papers have been transferred to the Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the Arthur Schwartz Collection (MAVIS collection no. 14607). Two film reels have been transferred from the Arthur Schwartz Papers have been transferred to the Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the Arthur Schwartz Papers (MAVIS collection no. 26571). An inventory of these materials is available in the Music Division's collection file.
