Accruals
Since the initial gift, annual accruals have been received. Further accruals are expected.
Processing History
Amanda Smith, assisted by Elizabeth Aldrich, inventoried the original gift of papers by the American Ballet Theatre in 2013. Additional accruals have arrived yearly thereafter. The audiovisual recordings were inventoried in summer 2016 by Anna Oates. In 2019, K. Mitchell Snow inventoried and created a finding aid for the photographs, and also organized the choreographic notes and notation materials. Libby Smigel coded the partial finding aid the photographs and the dance notation series for EAD format in 2019.
Transfers
The American Ballet Theatre Archive's moving image and sound recordings were transferred to the Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound (MBRS) Division, where they are now identified as part of the American Ballet Theatre Collection (MAVIS collection no. 15495). The recordings include performances and rehearsals, clips and promotional trailers, and documentary footage.
