Processing History
Wayne Shirley processed the Arnold Schoenberg Correspondence and Other Papers in the 1980s with assistance from Kate Rivers. The collection was prepared for the Arnold Schönberg Center’s digitization project in 2003. Jane Cross, Anthony Edwards, and Rachel McNellis coded the finding aid in 2021.
Transfers
Wire and disc recordings have been transferred to the Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division, where they are identified as part of the Arnold Schoenberg Audio Materials (MAVIS collection no. 6591). These recordings preserve drafts of letters, a few lectures, a radio talk delivered in 1949, and a 1931 performance of Variations for Orchestra, op. 31.

The Arnold Schönberg Center has digitized the correspondence in this collection, as well as correspondence held by the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library) in Vienna.
