Acquisition Information
Jerry Valburn donated half of his collection of sound recordings and other materials related to Duke Ellington to the Library of Congress in 1991. The Library purchased the other half of Valburn's collection that same year.
Processing History
Samuel Perryman, Lloyd Pinchback, Patricia Willard, and Joy Miles processed the Jerry Valburn Collection on Duke Ellington in 2006. Jane Cross, Rachel McNellis, and Alicia Patterson coded the finding aid in 2021.
Transfers
Sound and video recordings from the Jerry Valburn Collection on Duke Ellington have been transferred to the Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division where they are identified as part of the Valburn/Ellington Collection (MAVIS collection no. 1675).
