Materials in the Jerry Marrion Collection of Performer Promotional Photographs span from the 1930s through the 1940s. The collection is comprised entirely of black and white publicity photographs of musicians and ensembles that performed at the Arkota Ballroom in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Big Band era is well represented by musicians such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Lionel Hampton, Woody Herman, Anita O'Day, Noble Sissle, and Stan Kenton.
