Accruals are expected.
Processing History
Emily Baumgart, Jane Cross, Anthony Edwards, and Kate Rivers processed the Music series of the Gunther Schuller Papers between 2017 and 2022. Emily Baumgart and Jane Cross coded the finding aid in 2022.
At present, only the music portion of the collection is processed and described; Schuller’s papers and non-music materials will be processed at a later date.
Several items have undergone mold remediation.
Transfers
The Library of Congress Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division surveyed Schuller’s collection and made selections for acquisition. Materials acquired are identified as part of the Gunther Schuller Collection (Mavis no. 15434). An inventory of this material is available in the Music Division's collection file.
Other Repositories
The Harriet M. Spaulding Library at the New England Conservatory holds papers relating to Schuller's term as president of the conservatory.
