Processing History
Emily Baumgart and Janet McKinney processed the John Adams Music Manuscripts and Papers and coded the finding aid in 2023-2024.
Identification numbers for digital materials will be added at a later date.
A small amount of material was treated for mold in 2023. Researchers with mold sensitivities and allergies are advised to wear a mask when handling these materials. Although moldy materials have been thoroughly cleaned, some are still stained.
Transfers
Approximately 375 sound recordings from the John Adams Music Manuscripts and Papers have been transferred to the Library of Congress National Audio-Video Conservation Center where they are identified as the John Coolidge Adams Papers (AVCMS no. 20000108). An inventory of this material is available in the Music Division's collection file.
