Summary | This collection contains formal portraits of Allied military and political leaders of the World War II period. These photographs were originally produced for the United States Navy's archive, as part of a project starting in 1942 to create a pictorial record of prominent figures in the Allied war effort, including military personnel, politicians, ministers, and cabinet officers, as well as leaders from the Allied Nations. Pictured are leaders from the United States, Great Britain, the USSR, Europe, the Middle East, South America, and China. |
