Within each subdivision, items are arranged in item number sequence. Names of subdivisions are most commonly names of defendant(s), but often also names of victims, phrases by which the trial was well known in the media, or other descriptions of trials' content. Some subdivisions contain multiple trials, including those that went to the state and federal appeals courts, with the same defendant(s) or arising from the same incident.
