Biographical Note
Marilyn Church, born 1940 in New York City, is an artist. She studied at Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, New York) and Indiana University. Initially working as a fashion illustrator and art educator, in 1974 she began a long career as a courtroom artist after a prosecutor suggested the idea to her. She has covered high profile cases for The New York Times, ABC News, and other major networks. She cites Honoré Daumier and Francisco Goya as her influences. Now, she focuses her attention on painting and exhibiting her work in art galleries.
