Requesting Materials
For information about service in the Prints and Photographs Reading Room, including obtaining copies, see "Information for Researchers."
To obtain copies of materials in LOT 11800, the following information will be useful in completing the order forms: the captions for each image (provide the name of the institution or person from whom Mr. Goode acquired it or obtained a copy) and a copy negative number when available. Where Mr. Goode himself provided a copy negative, it is numbered in one of two negative series:
- LC-G7 (5x7" film negatives)
- LC-G72 (8x10" film negatives)
Both negative series are in the Library's collections and can be used as the source for obtaining copies. Please note that some prints with LC-G7 and LC-G72 series copy negatives are captioned "restricted use". Permission to use prints from these negatives must be obtained from the person or institution holding the rights to their reproduction.
In regard to photoprints which cite the Library of Congress as the source institution, an attempt has been made to note any existing Library of Congress negative numbers (examples: Library of Congress negative number LC-USZ62-11111, LC-J71-2345, etc.). Copies from these negatives can also be obtained where other restrictions do not apply.
Finally, where no copy negative or original negative is available for a photoprint in this collection, and where no restrictions have been placed upon its reproduction, a copy can be made from the photoprint. Readers can also contact the owner of the original item for copies.
