Biographical Note
Charles E. Feinberg was born in 1900. He built a fortune as a fuel-oil distributor in Detroit, funding his interest in book collecting. Feinberg began collecting papers and portraits related to Walt Whitman in 1919, and gave lectures on Whitman at multiple universities in America. He died on March 4th, 1988.
