The original Subject Card Index and an incomplete index of photographer names were provided by USN&WR along with the collection materials. Also included was an index of color images that are not held by the Library of Congress. Card indexes are available in the Library of Congress Prints and Photographs Reading Room.
The logbooks provided by USN&WR offer a listing of assignments and photographers by job number, which were assigned roughly chronologically. The original logbooks are in 4 binders filed in the P&P Supplementary Archive, with a copy available in the Prints and Photographs Reading Room. The data in the logbooks formed the basis for this finding aid.
