Summary | Wilhelm Schreiber (1855-1932), German printmaking scholar and author of the major reference work Manuel de l'amateur de la gravure sur bois et sur métal au XVe siècle (1891-1911), organized a personal study collection of over 20,000 book illustrations produced during the 15th through the 18th centuries. The Library acquired this collection in 1929 along with Schreiber's handwritten inventory. (Source: Melville guide) |
