Original ID #16. John Hurt biography #1. On the tape container: "This is the
first (post discovery) John Hurt Recording" (G.R.). "same as 15." Recorded in
Avalon, Mississippi by Tom Hoskins on March 3, 1963. Conversations and
background noise can be heard throughout the recording. While the documentation
notes "re-recorded: Adelphi Studios" on July 7, 1965, this is the recording of
March 3, 1963. SR015b is a slightly different version of this recording, with
the addition of "Frankie and Johnnie" and the exclusion of "Through the years I
keep on toiling" and "Precious Lord take my hand." |
