			48 maps and 1 unbound volume showing Antarctica and the surrounding waters at varying scales and projections, depicting exploration routes, delineations of known and unknown regions and geographic features, and plans for future exploration. Mix of manuscript and printed maps. Many maps annotated in unknown hand(s). These maps primarily depict regions and activities deriving from Finn Ronne's four major Antarctic expeditions: Byrd Antarctic Expedition II (1933-1935); U.S. Antarctic Service Exploration (1939-1941), Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1946-1948); Operation Deep Freeze.
