The Correspondence series comprises personal and professional correspondence with Marianne Kris's colleagues, friends, and patients, primarily from after her immigration to America in 1940 to her death in 1980. The correspondence touches on many aspects of Marianne Kris's life and career, including her work as a psychoanalyst in private practice as well as a consultant and educator with various professional institutions and organizations. Letters exchanged with Anna Freud and Dorothy T. Burlingham are chiefly concerned with their personal lives and not their professional activities. Many letters with European correspondents are in German, although most other correspondence is in English. This series does not represent the entirety of correspondence in Part II as letters are found throughout other series, especially the Family Papers series and the Subject File. Notable correspondents include Grete L. Bibring, Dorothy T. Burlingham, K. R. Eissler, Anna Freud, Elisabeth R. Geleerd, Ernst H.
