BOX 63-68 Part II: Speeches and Writings File, 1922-2005
The Speeches and Writings File contains material relating to the professional career of Ernst Kris as an art historian and later as a psychoanalyst, and of Marianne Kris's work in child psychoanalysis and as a psychoanalytic educator. The series consists of reprints and drafts of articles, essays, lectures, and speeches; transcripts of discussion groups; exhibition catalogs; and book reviews. Works produced by or related to Marianne Kris are arranged chronologically; works produced by or related to Ernst Kris are arranged first by material type and then chronologically to reflect their arrangement in Part I. Marianne Kris's writings are primarily in English; Ernst Kris's writings, particularly his early-career art history publications, are written primarily in German.
Material types include drafts and reprints, transcripts, exhibition catalogs, and printed matter.
At the highest level this is arranged in two groups: speeches and writings by Ernst Kris, arranged alphabetically by material type and then chronologically therein; and speeches and writings by Marianne Kris, arranged chronologically.

Material relating to Anna Freud and Sigmund Freud is comprised of clippings, correspondence, essays and lectures, and printed matter. Interviews with and about Grete L. Bibring document her life and career as a psychoanalyst and psychiatrist; these interviews are in digital format. The Subject File contains a significant number of reports documenting the activities of the Hampstead War Nursery in England, which was founded by Anna Freud in 1940 as a foster care home for children affected by World War II.
