The Administrative File documents the annual convention, activity of the Board of Directors and NAACP Special Contribution Fund, and a broad range of initiatives and events administered by the national staff concerning civil rights, energy, international affairs, religious affairs, awards, health, housing, and fundraising.
Arranged into four subseries.

The bulk of the Annual Convention subseries dates from 1971 to 1999 and documents the events, sessions, workshops, award ceremonies, memorial services, finances, security arrangements, publicity materials, and planning documents associated with the annual convention.
Material types include programs, minutes, speeches, press releases, financial material, correspondence, memoranda, resolutions, photographs, and news clippings. Some textual materials are in digital formats.
