The Gilbert Jonas Company series documents the company's fundraising activities for NAACP, mostly from 1990 to 1995. It also includes personal papers of Gilbert Jonas related to a book he wrote on the NAACP published in 2005. Documentation of the company’s fundraising activities include charitable foundation and corporate solicitations, direct mail, and collaborations with the NAACP Special Contribution Fund. The series also documents the NAACP’s decision to not renew their contract with the company in 1995. Personal materials of Gilbert Jonas include writings, biographical information, ephemera, and files related to the book Freedom's Sword: The NAACP and the Struggle Against Racism in America, 1909-1969.
Material types include correspondence, reports, appeal letters, case files, contracts, financial records, memoranda, form letters, donor lists, news clippings, drafts, research, photographs, and notes. Some photographic and textual materials, and a radio interview, are in digital formats.
