The Region V series documents the activities of the Southeast regional office of the NAACP, which oversaw the branches and state conferences of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The administrative records of Region V can be found within the Staff Files subseries, which contains the records of directors Ruby Hurley, Nelson B. Rivers III, Earl T. Shinhoster, and Charles White.
Arranged into five subseries.

The Branches subseries documents the activities and administration of local branches and state conferences of branches. The materials do not reflect a comprehensive account of the activities and administration of every branch as the amount and type of documentation varies widely from branch to branch, with chronological gaps overlapping with material found in the Staff Files. Recurring topics include complaints against branch leadership, election disputes, fundraising, annual reports and accomplishments, events, requests for legal aid, membership forms, and financial reports.
Material types include correspondence, newsletters, convention and event programs, meeting minutes, notes, photographs, reports, and news clippings. A song and videos are in digital formats.
Arranged alphabetically by state and alphabetically by name of branch or conference thereunder. The file structure of the digital content maintained as received.
