The NAACP Special Contribution Fund subseries documents the fundraising
activities of the NAACP Special Contribution Fund through Board of Trustees
records and Development Department records, the bulk of which date from 1980 to
2009. Files include meeting minutes, reports, corporate fundraising files,
contribution lists, and general background regarding programs funded by the
NAACP Special Contribution Fund. Files of the Development Department document
corporate relations and fundraising, especially after 1995 when the NAACP
contract with Gilbert Jonas Company was not renewed. The subseries comprises
many files of Mildred Bond Roxborough, reflecting her role as a consultant and
director of development, as well as some personal papers. Additional files of
Roxborough related to her role as deputy director of programs, director of
operations, and assistant to the executive director are located in the General
Office File. Material types include directories, correspondence, memoranda, minutes, resolutions, speeches, financial records, reports, and printed matter. |
