The Staff Files consist of material from various Branch Department staff, primarily regional directors and field directors, mostly from the 1960s through the 1980s. The bulk of the subseries features the records of Ina Boon (Region IV director), Leonard H. Carter (Region I and IV director), Jerry Guess (Region II director), Leroy Mobley (Region VII director), Althea T. L. Simmons (associate director of branch services), and Janice Washington (Region VII director). The records document the daily work and responsibilities of NAACP staff involved with branch administration and comprise branch activity reports, meeting minutes, and correspondence. Notable material includes Simmons’s work with the NAACP Image Awards and the Committee on Branch and Youth Work, Janice Washington’s involvement on the Task Force on Discrimination in Federal Government, and Ina Boon’s involvement in the Women’s Conference and Dillard's Department Stores boycotts.
