BOX X:1950-2123			Th Staff Files subseries contains the office files of the regional directors, namely Ruby Hurley (1952-1978), Earl T. Shinhoster (1978-1994), Nelson B. Rivers III (1994-1999) and Charles White (1999-2006). A small amount of material documenting the work of regional director Francys Johnson is also included. The Staff Files document the Southeast Region Leadership Development Training Conferences along with other regional conventions and meetings, requests for legal aid, members and membership campaigns, and branch administration. Notable among the files are those documenting Ruby Hurley’s oversight of the regional office during the height of the civil rights movement, including correspondence and reports submitted by Mississippi field director Medgar Wiley Evers. Material types include memoranda, correspondence, handbooks, financial records, meeting minutes, proposals, press releases, photographs, directories, speeches, presentations, and resolutions in both physical and digital formats. Notes, news clippings, and printed matter are in physical formats. Videos and databases are in digital formats.
