Correspondents include John Adams, Edward Bancroft, the Continental Congress, Benjamin Franklin, John G. Frazer, Esek Hopkins, Marquis de Lafayette, Arthur Lee, John Manley, James Moylan, John de Neufville and Son, John Ross, Daniel Tillinghast, Jonathan Williams, and various French officials. Jacob Brown, of installations on the Western Lakes including Brownsville, Niagara, Buffalo, Erie, Detroit, Mackinac, and Cleveland, in which he describes towns, their inhabitants, lakes, terrain, and forts.
