Articles, speech transcripts, reports, and correspondence created or collected by past presidents of CLIR and its originating organizations. Represented individuals include Verner W. Clapp, Patricia Battin, and Deanna B. Marcum. The Clapp files comprise articles authored by Clapp, W. J. Barrow, Lee Edmonds Grove, and the National Bureau of Standards, and files pertaining to Clapp's death, memorial services, tributes, and affairs. The Battin files primarily document her various speaking engagements and authored articles between 1979 and 2001. Project files, awards, and records related to her tenure at Columbia University is also included. The Marcum files comprise authored articles, newsletters and reports created by the Commission on Preservation and Access and the Council on Library Resources in the years prior to the merge. Some material reflecting presentations is also included, as are research files and drafts for her dissertation. Little to no evidence exists in Marcum’s files detailing the Council and Commission’s merger, her role as the manager of the merge, or her responsibilities as president of the newly combined organizations.
