The Speeches series documents Greenspan's public pronouncements regarding economic theory and practice and the status of the U.S. and global economies, delivered to various committees of the U.S. government and a variety of economics conferences, retreats, meetings, and events. The chronological file within this series documents Greenspan's public formal and informal remarks from his time as chairman of the Federal Reserve as well as at conferences and events as a member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors and as president of Townsend-Greenspan & Co. The thematic file within this series documents remarks delivered at individually identified or oft-repeated events. The bulk of the material in the thematic file consists of statements delivered to Federal Reserve employees on the occasions of special events and campaigns.
