BOX 159-169 Personal File, 1914-2009
The Personal File series contains materials that reflect Greenspan's personal life, daily activities, and professional endeavors, the bulk of which date from the mid-1970s until 2009. The series includes material related to Greenspan's professional life, including contact cards, documentation of his participation on various boards, and his writings published in academic and economic journals and magazines. Notes from interviews with journalists as well as clippings from newspapers, popular magazines, and economic journals that feature Greenspan illustrate his public profile as an economist. Other materials provide a glimpse into Greenspan's personal life, such as writings and research completed during graduate school, financial material, awards and diplomas, photographs of Greenspan at the Economic Club of New York, and miscellaneous materials related to his mother, club membership, and donations. Daily schedules and calendars compiled by his assistants during his early years as Chair of the Federal Reserve appear to document activities related to both his professional and personal life.
Material types include contact cards; graduate schoolwork such as dissertation drafts and related research, writing, data sets, and calculations; selected financial materials such as receipts, paid bills, and balanced check books; interview notes and clippings that feature Greenspan; calendars and daily schedules; photographs; and awards and diplomas.
Arranged alphabetically by subject or type of material and therein chronologically or alphabetically by subject.
