The Speeches and Writings series, 1946-2013, contains articles, editorials, and
speeches written by Yudain, mostly pertaining to his role as editor of Roll Call and as a freelance journalist in Hollywood, California in the late
1940s. The articles mostly date from 1946 to 1950 when Yudain was an entertainment
writer covering actors and films. In some cases complete copies of magazines such
as Screen Guide and Movie Stars Parade featuring
Yudain’s articles are present. The writings include a selection of Yudain's
columns and editorials for Roll Call detailing social life on
Capitol Hill, mostly from the 1980s. The series also contains song lyrics, usually
parodies, written by Yudain as tributes to individuals or to mark special
occasions. The speeches and remarks relate primarily to Roll Call
and feature speaking engagements at award ceremonies, roasts, luncheons, and
family events.
