| The Book File series contains research materials, both paper and digital, for
The Class of ’74: Congress after Watergate and the Roots of Partisanship. The bulk of the series consists of audio files of interviews Lawrence
conducted with former members of Congress and staffers from the 1970s and the
corresponding notes Lawrence took during these interviews. Members interviewed
include James J. Blanchard, Thomas J. Downey, Ray LaHood, Abner J. Mikva, Pat
Schroeder, Henry A. Waxman, and Timothy E. Wirth, among others. For an index of

File Index. Some of the audio files are of poor quality. Miscellaneous
digital audio files in this series include notes, research materials, and
lectures. Digital files relating to Lawrence's unpublished book on the separation
of powers during the Obama administration, including chapter notes and research
materials, can be found throughout the Chief of Staff
File. Material types include digital audio files, notes, newspaper clippings, promotional materials, and other printed matter. |
