			The Correspondence subseries comprises professional correspondence received by Karle, the bulk of which spans from 1965 to 2000. Although some outgoing letters are included, the subseries largely consists of letters sent to Karle by colleagues, scientists, and admirers of his work, especially after he won the Nobel Prize. Topics include solicitation for comments on articles, vacancy announcements, arrangements for speaking engagements and conference appearances, reprint requests, and letters from individuals seeking his autograph or advice. 			The Speeches and Writings subseries comprises files related to articles, lectures, abstracts, reports, and a monograph written by Karle focusing on a range of topics relevant to his crystallography research.
