BOX 1-3 Cipollone v. Liggett Group, Inc., 1977-1989
The Cipollone v. Liggett Group, Inc. series documents Jaffe's role in one of the nation’s first successful tobacco litigation cases involving addiction. Jaffe served as a witness for the plaintiff, offering expertise in the science of addiction. The case ultimately resulted in a Supreme Court ruling allowing for lawsuits by smokers against tobacco companies in some circumstances.
